LOWCOUNTRY DEAF CHURCH – a ministry @ Harbour Lake Baptist Church

We proudly minister to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals across the Lowcountry area of South Carolina. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing people are a unique, vibrant, and active group with their own language and culture. They reside here in the state with their own activities, organizations, and daily lives/jobs. They live in the same way as other hearing people in the world, but there is one factor that affects this community in all facets of life: communicating with those who can hear. Cultural Deaf people typically communicate information and express themselves using American Sign Language (ASL). In the Lowcountry area, there are not many places a Deaf person can worship using American Sign Language.

We, at the Lowcountry Deaf Church, strive to share the Lord’s message in sign language, looking to reach those never exposed to the Gospel. By sharing the Gospel with the deaf community in their language, we can instill the love of Christ in their hearts; enabling them to grow, becoming a light to their community. We look forward to the future in seeing the fruits of this labor. Our hope is that you will prayerfully support us as we share the Gospel in another language in our mission for CHRIST!

We welcome everyone in the Deaf and Hard of hearing community to attend our ministry.
